The program of the School of Discovery shows in April

The Discovery School is an initiative designed to support the scientific education in Romanian schools and high schools and to integrate audio-video and new media resources into the education process. The Discovery School has two main components: a line of educational programs on topics related to the scientific education broadcast on the Discovery Channel in Romania and a series of didactic materials available online, which will help the teachers to integrate these programs in the current didactic activities.

The program of the School of Discovery from April 20 to April 30

Friday, April 20, 2012
08.00 - Discovery School: Elements of physics: Movement, force and gravity
We study Newton's three laws of motion, explore the four fundamental forces of the Universe, and learn how Einstein revolutionized the way we understand gravity.
14.00 - Discovery School: If the Moon didn't exist
Would life have appeared on Earth had the Moon not existed? Experts show that the Moon greatly influences the weather, gravitational attraction and rotation of the Earth, but also all living things.
Saturday, April 21, 2012

08.00 - Discovery School: Mathematics: Exploring Algebra - Part 1
Learn more about variables and find out how they can be used in numerical sentences. We discover the properties of linear equations and observe what they look like on a graph.
09.00 - Discovery School: Elements of Chemistry: Compounds and Reactions
We learn how to combine less than a hundred elements to form the millions of substances in the Universe and study various chemical and electrochemical reactions.

08.00 - Discovery School: If the Moon didn't exist
Would life have appeared on Earth had the Moon not existed? Experts show that the Moon greatly influences the weather, gravitational attraction and rotation of the Earth, but also all living things.
09.00 - Discovery School: Elements of Biology: Evolution
We study Darwin's theory that all species evolved from the first life forms, which changed and adapted to the environment as a result of natural selection.
10.00 - Discovery School: Elements of physics: Movement, force and gravity
We study Newton's three laws of motion, explore the four fundamental forces of the Universe, and learn how Einstein revolutionized the way we understand gravity.
