Strawberry pie

Strawberry cake is a classic dessert of Romanian cuisine, which has the advantage that it is prepared with few ingredients.


Preparation time

60 minutes




300 g strawberries

6 eggs

6 tablespoons sugar powder

6 tablespoons flour

15 ml lemon juice

lemon peel

powdered sugar for decoration

Method of preparation

Wash the strawberries and sprinkle the sugar over them. Put them aside and prepare the dough.

Separate the eggs and beat the yolks with the powdered sugar. Add a tablespoon of sugar and mix very well, until you finish the whole quantity.

Add flour, in the rain, but mix from top to bottom, very lightly, with a wooden spoon.

The whites beat the foam with the juice and the lemon peel, then put them over the yolks.

In a tray lined with baking paper, turn the composition, leveling with a spoon. Place on top the straws left by the sap left.

Put the cake in the oven, over medium heat, until slightly browned and pass the test of the toothpick.

Leave the cake to cool slightly, then cut into slices and sprinkle with sugar.
