Christmas is approaching and you probably already made your budget for this year's gifts. Being a less prosperous year you probably have a "crisis budget" so we thought we would offer you some less expensive gift ideas that will please the whole family.
Gift ideas for children
When looking for gifts for the little ones for Christmas you can consider the following tips:
• Some toys may look fun but not necessarily so. Plus, what you found to be fun when you were a kid (eg, wooden toys) may not match the tastes of your child.
• Avoid cheap replicas after famous toys (eg Lego games or Barbie dolls).
• Don't buy the first thing you find on offer. It is better to research the market well before making a decision.
• Always read the box before you buy a toy because you may need accessories or batteries that are not included in the price.
• Look after stock liquidations and price reductions.
• Always keep receipts.
• Think about the pleasant moments you spent with your child. What were you doing then? Did you ever mention your child a day when you had a good time together? What does he really enjoy doing?
• You should not fall into the list of lists made by children with what they want for Christmas. I usually put the first thing on their mind so that they can change their mind.
An idea would be to buy them gifts that seem bulky (kids like big boxes) and keep them busy for a long time without making a hole in your budget. You can choose from dozens of types of puzzles, cute kits and Lego toys. These types of toys are at the same time educational.
They can also buy figurines of different Disney characters or dinosaurs or any other known character that they can paint (there are special color sets) or modeling paste that will keep them busy for hours.
For children who hate to bathe you can buy different toys that can float in the tub and even colored LEDs that attach to the tub and make the water shine in different colors.
You can try, if they are big enough, to buy them games of society, which they can enjoy with the whole family (for example Monopoly, Do not be angry brother etc, Dungeons and Dragons).
If you are a sports fan you can buy tickets to a game or a few pieces of equipment. If you like nature you can buy books about animals and then see them together at the zoo.
Gifts for the rest of the family and for friends
Hand made and vintage gifts
Hand made gifts are always appreciated because it means that the person who made them even gave them silence. If you know how to weave you can make sets of scarves and caps. You can find hand made things at the different fairs organized during this period.
For those who appreciate it, you can stop at vintage or second-hand stores where you can find different hidden treasures at more than acceptable prices. If you have to give a gift to a lady you will definitely appreciate a set of vintage jewelry.
Stores with fixed prices
There are many shops with fixed prices (3.8 RON or 10 RON) that are ideal for creating a "thematic" gift. For example you can take for someone passionate about cooking a nice sort with assorted kitchen glove, wooden spatula, a set of knives and any other accessories you think would work well.
You have probably seen through the city different gift baskets starting from pretty piperate prices. The good news is that you can also make baskets that look just as beautiful but with less money.
You can buy the baskets separately (they are quite cheap) and more goodies in large quantities or at offers to be divided into baskets: wine, chocolate, Christmas figurines, cozonaci etc.
If you take more baskets you will only need to invest in a single installment of packaging accessories: bag, wrapping paper and greeting cards.
Gourmet coffee and special cup
For those who are really passionate about coffee you can opt for a special package of coffee and a funny mug. If you want to be a little more personal gift you can print on the mug the name or the picture of the one for whom it is intended.
New books can be quite expensive but a book lover will appreciate those bought from the antique shop. You can make a mini collection of beautifully packaged books as a gift.
If you want to make a nice gift for a family you can buy some DVDs, popcorn and hot chocolate so you can all enjoy the gift.
