Lidl starts the preparations for the beginning of the school year with a diversified offer of supplies and accessories for students, which will be available in Lidl stores throughout the country between August 21 and September 3. Because all children should have equal opportunities, when purchasing any product from the "Back to School" range, Lidl donates 1 lei to the national Teach for Romania program, which supports the right to quality education for children throughout the country.

During the 5 years of presence in Romania, education was one of the priority areas of social responsibility for Lidl, supported by the company through significant investments. Only for the program "Bread and Maine", carried out by World Vision Romania, Lidl has donated over 2,900,000 lei from 2016 so far. The program, which debuted in April last year, aims to reduce the dropout rate in rural areas.

This time, Lidl becomes a partner of the educational program "Teach for Romania", whose mission is to provide children with life options through quality education. The program was initially developed by Teach for America in 1990 in the United States. In our country, the program is supported by the Ministry of National Education and aims to train teachers and teachers who will facilitate access to education for children in Romania. Through this partnership, each product purchased by the clients who prepare the little ones for the first day of school means 1 lei which Lidl donates to "Teach for Romania". The "Back to School" campaign is part of the company's social responsibility initiatives, under the umbrella "For a better future".

“Education means more to a child than learning to read and write. It means the chance to write their own future and, why not, even the future of this country, as they dreamed. We strongly believe in the mission of the Teach for Romania team and we all know how important it is to have, on the school benches, trained and involved teachers, which will give a real chance to the education of the children, regardless of the environment from which they come ”, says Cristina Hanganu, Director of Communication and CSR Lidl Romania.

The products in the "Back to School" range participating in the campaign include products intended for small school activities, such as writing tools, backpacks, notebooks or feathers. For example, among the items that customers can add to the shopping cart are: math / dictando notebooks (between 1.69 lei and 6.99 lei), the backpack with license (19.99 lei) and the backpack with license (119.00 lei), or the equipped pen (29.99 lei).

In addition, because the environmental responsibility of the company is also reflected in the offer from the shelf, the "Back to School" range includes products with wood elements from responsibly managed forests, such as: Educational wooden games (49.99 lei) , Creative set (34.99 lei) or Educational games in wooden box (19.99 lei). These high quality products are certified according to the standards imposed by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC).
