The Romanian investigators launch the national competition "My camp"

The National Organization of Researches of Romania (O.N.C.R.) - Brasov branch "Virgil Onitiu" launches, within the project "Youth for a better world", the contest "My camp".
The competition runs from May 17 to June 11, 2010 and is aimed at children and young people between the ages of 7 and 24 from all over the country.
The objective of the competition is to provide educational, social and recreational services to a greater number of children and young people - especially from disadvantaged backgrounds, as well as to stimulate their creativity, by creating visual identity elements for the social enterprise of the organization - camp for children and young people from Zarnesti, Brasov county.


Children and young people will be able to register for the competition in teams of 6-9 persons, under the guidance of one
adult. They will develop their creative skills by proposing to the organizers a name for the camp, a logo, a flag, a hymn, as well as a short composition or an essay with the theme "How my camp looks".
"We encourage the participation of children and young people from disadvantaged backgrounds, who will be granted a
special attention. Thus, over 80% of the prizes are allocated to the section in which children participate
young people with high risk of marginalization or social exclusion, including institutionalized, young people
over 18 years post-institutionalized, people with disabilities, people with health problems
mental etc. ", said Maricel Maroti, President of the organization.
The works proposed by the participants will be evaluated by a jury made up of Alexandru Savu, Director of the Youth Directorate of Brasov County, Hajnalka Bessenyei, representative of ERSTE Foundation and Maricel-Adrian Maroti, President of ONCR Brasov Branch, and the winners will be announced during the period June 21-25, 2010.
During the competition, a maximum of 342 children and young people will be awarded, accompanied by 38 adults. The prizes will consist of 2, 3 and 6 days camps, the total value amounting to approximately 80,000 lei.

Scouting is an educational movement of children and young people, based on volunteerism, with an apolitical character, open to all, regardless of nationality, race, sex, faith or social condition, in accordance with the principles and method of research.
The purpose of Scouting is to contribute to the development of young people, with a view to their physical, intellectual, social, spiritual fulfillment, in order to become responsible citizens of the local, national and international community.
