If you go to the Baby Boom Show, register at the Biogenis booth and sign with Biogenis on April 14-21, 2011 a contract for harvesting and storing umbilical cord blood at birth, you receive free collection and storage of umbilical cord portion - Wharton jelly.

You collect umbilical blood, you have free cord portion harvesting

Get to the fair, sign a contract for umbilical blood collection and benefit from no other costs and cord portion harvesting, the newest service for stem cells.

Since April 2011, Biogenis has been offering a new stem cell service, umbilical cord portion harvesting - Wharton Gelatin.

Mesenchymal stem cells are found in very large numbers in the Wharton Gelatin of the umbilical cord (connective tissue that envelops and protects the umbilical cord vessels).

The same cells are found in the bone marrow, but their harvesting involves a painful process, with high risk for the patient. Contrary to this case, the harvesting of mesenchymal stem cells from the umbilical cord involves the sectioning of a region of the umbilical cord at birth. The harvesting process presents no risk to the mother or child and is pain free.

Studies have shown that due to their unique characteristics, mesenchymal stem cells can differentiate into bone, myocardial, liver, tegumental, cartilaginous, nervous and adipose cells. They have a large multiplying capacity and it seems that histocompatibility between the mesenchymal stem cell donor and the receptor is not required.

There are more than 80 ongoing clinical trials using this type of cell. Researchers believe that in the future, mesenchymal cells could help treat diseases such as diabetes, multiple sclerosis, heart failure, liver injury and bone fractures.

Between April 14 and 17, 2011, Biogenis is waiting for future mothers with surprises at the Baby Boom Show, the first international fair in Romania for children between 0-5 years and future mothers!

Within the fair, Biogenis also brings a biologist from the processing laboratory, in order to be able to provide future parents with complete information on blood analysis and processing, the procedures by which they pass the stem cell samples, from the moment they arrive at the bank and until their cryogenization. -190 degrees Celsius, in liquid nitrogen vapor.

Details about the offer can be found directly at the Biogenis booth at the Baby Boom Show.
